Computed Tomography

Computed Tomography (CT) is an advanced imaging technique that uses X-rays to create detailed cross-sectional images of the body. It provides more detailed information than standard X-rays, making it a valuable diagnostic tool in veterinary medicine.

How It Works:

  1. X-Ray Source and Detector: A CT scanner consists of an X-ray source and a detector that rotates around the patient.
  2. Image Acquisition: Multiple X-ray beams pass through the animal’s body from different angles. The detector captures these beams.
  3. Data Processing: The captured data is processed by a computer to create cross-sectional images (slices) of the body.
  4. Image Reconstruction: The slices can be viewed individually or reconstructed into a 3D image for comprehensive analysis.
